Uniqueness of Kelantan Traditions: Kuih Muih Edition ^_^

Ooohhoiii...just arrived in Shah Alam but mind & soul still at my home town... Duhh how I miss my mum's cook and I can still smell the air full with love and peaceful state.. Kelantan o my Kelantan..

Herm..today is Monday..and I thought of eating something sweets and nice and cute and unique dishes.. Oh Kelantan's cake! ^_^ how I wish to eat all the cakes or better say K.U.I.H! For sure it is difficult to get all the 'kuih' here in Shah Alam but since my mood is somewhat kinda okay la today, let me share with you all some of the various types of 'Kuih Kelantan'.. jeng..jeng..jeng... P/s2: please take a tissue with you cuz' the pictures may make your mouth watery..like mine just now...hehehe

First and foremost, introducing to you, the fabulous orange in colour, sweet, and cute 'Kuih Tanjung'

Kuih Tanjung
It sweetness can 'kill' you...hahaha..because it is too awesome! don't believe it? Believe it!

Secondly..Kelantanese call this 'kuih' as the most dangerous ever because its name is 'Lopat Tikey' a.k.a. 'Lompat Tikam'..hehe..it is very delicious because it is a combination of red in coloured sticky rice (pulut le tu..huhu), green in coloured soft cake (entoh le ape ke namanye..huhu) and eat with coconut milk and 'gula melaka'..
Lompat Tikam

The third is 'kuih Belebab'..don't know why our ancestors used to call it such that but it taste good, not too sweet, not too sticky but just nice..you can see the uniqueness of this 'kuih' when you see the picture below..hehe
Kuih Belebab
The recipe is simple because you just use the rice flour, the 'ubi keledek', plain water and sugar to give a taste and then wrap it into banana leaves and steam it. Done! Eat it with a cup of tea or coffee in the evening while watching kids playing kites..duhh it brings back the memories..huhu ^_^

Next is 'Teghi Mandi' a.k.a. 'Puteri Mandi'..the kuih is very colourful and sweet also. But can you imagine how the sweetness can make you melting again and again...oh Thanks Allah for giving the buds that can taste your grace..
Puteri Mandi
Enough? huhu..the next 'kuih' can make you wonder whether it is 'kuih' or cookies actually. huhu..Kelantanese used to call it 'Kuih Sema' though it does not look like 'kuih'. This kind of 'kuih' is made from sugar and the way it cook is different from the others because it is dry but easily melted in your mouth..Unbelievable right?

Kuih Sema

Another type of 'kuih' also famous among Kelantanese and it is made from coconut..hehe.. Introduce to you..'Tepung Gomok'..why people call it 'Tepung Gomok' is because though the ingredient is the coconut but it is shaped into round and then rolled it over the flour to avoid stick with another and because it is big and 'gemok'..huhu
Tepung Gomok

The last but not least is 'Pulut Panggang' or Kelantanese call it 'Pulut Lepa' but sound like 'Puluk Lepo'..hehe unique right? You can eat this kind of 'kuih' during breakfast or even tea time..whichever you like.. because the 'kuih' is made from sticky rice and inside it you can found 'serunding daging'...See the picture below and put your shoes on, grab the car key and find it now at the nearest stall! ^_^ p/s: if you can find the best 'Puluk Lepo' in Shah Alam, let me know..huhu

Seems like the sun is no longer smile and the sky is dark and I think it gonna pour some tears..but..hehe..no worries, hope it rain heavily cuz' i wanna see the rainbow! yeay!

I think it is enough for now and till the next entries..I'll show another mouth watery dishes and the more uniqueness of Kelantan. Till we meet again.. Bubbye bloggers! (^_^)
